Measurement of the Dalitz-decay branching ratio of the π
The ratio B = Γ (π → eeγ)/Γ (π → γγ) is measured by comparing the production rates of the π in the two decay channels. The analysis is based on approximately four million hadronic decays of the Z boson recorded by the ALEPH detector in the years 1991 to 1995. The value of B is determined to be (1.140 ± 0.041)%. A recalculation of the Particle Data Group world average gives rise to a slightly im...
متن کاملBRIDGE: Branching Ratio Inquiry/Decay Generated Events
We present the manual for the program BRIDGE: Branching Ratio Inquiry/Decay Generated Events. The program is designed to operate with arbitrary models defined within matrix element generators, so that one can simulate events with small finalstate multiplicities, decay them with BRIDGE, and then pass them to showering and hadronization programs. BRI can automatically calculate widths of two and ...
متن کاملMeasurement of prominent eta-decay branching fractions.
The decay psi(2S) --> etaJ/psi is used to measure, for the first time, all prominent eta-meson branching fractions with the same experiment in the same dataset, thereby providing a consistent treatment of systematics across branching fractions. We present results for eta decays to gamma gamma, pi(+)pi(-)pi(0), 3pi(0), pi(+)pi(-)gamma and e(+)e(-)gamma, accounting for 99.9% of all eta decays. Th...
متن کاملMeasurement of the Higgs boson decay branching ratio to charm quarks at the ILC
We present an analysis for the measurement of the Higgs Boson branching ratio BR(H → cc̄) for a light Standard Model-like Higgs boson produced at 250 GeV centre of mass energy at the International Linear Collider (ILC). The tools and technique used for the analysis are described and relative statistical uncertainities are determined.
متن کاملFirst observation of the decay Bs0-->Ds-Ds+ and measurement of its branching ratio.
We report the observation of the exclusive decay Bs0-->Ds-Ds+ at the 7.5 standard deviation level using 355 pb(-1) of data collected by the CDF II detector in pp collisions at sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV at the Fermilab Tevatron. We measure the relative branching ratio B(Bs0-->Ds-Ds+)/B(B0-->D-Ds+)=1.44(-0.44)(+0.48). Using the world average value for B(B0-->D-Ds+), we find B(Bs0-->Ds-Ds+)=(9.4(-4.2)(+4.4...
